6 inches with tail is still a young chameleon. at that age hey should be eating as much as they like. when they get about say... 6-8 inches without tail is time to start curving their food intake.

Yea, and males usually won't gorge themselves like females will. My female will eat and eat until she bursts (or gets extremely obese lol).

3 to 5 feeders every other day or every two days is plenty for him.

And to answer your question: Yes, it is very possible to overfeed.

Even hatchlings I don't feed as much as they would possibly eat....I feed them as much as they will eat in a couple of minutes. Even hatchlings will/can become obese if they are fed an unlimited amount of food. Obesity can lead to constipation, prolapses and in females, egglaying difficulties....and IMHO shortens their lives.

Powerfeeding babies can also push them towards MBD.

i was overfeeding mine up until a week or so ago. i was going to the store every other day for his food. i now feed him a few crickets, supers, or silkies a day.
