Plants to use!

I currently have a Ficus tree, Hibiscus bushes and some Snake plants in my cham enclosures but would like to get more plants. I have a small umbrella plant that I got from Wal-Mart but it needs to grow a bit first. I'm not really sure what POTHOS plants are though. I never see them for sale anywhere. They look exactly like Philodendrin plants and I have a couple of those but wanted to make sure before I used them.

I did come across a couple SAFE PLANTS listings but was just wondering what many people use here for in their cham's enclosures. The problem with Wal-Mart is that they have cheap plants but there's not usually a name associated ... they just say 6" Tropical or 10" tropical and so on. So unless you know what the plants look like ahead of time you can't be sure if they're safe or not.

Thanks .... Dyesub Dave. :D

Pothos...

I think philodendron is on the toxic list for plants...but I don't have time to look it up right now.

Philodendron is Toxic and should not be used nearby chameleon that especially likes to munch plants..
Kinda a shame though.. Philodendron is such a pretty plant..
Pothos are very available at everywhere.
Wal Mart for sure has it!
Sometimes they stick pothos with bunch of other plants on a shelves.
So it's kind of hard to find.

OK ... but does anybody know how to tell Pothos from Philadendron? I've found pics on the net for both that look EXACTLY the same!! Maybe I should take a pic of the plant I have and post it here in case somebody could tell by looking at it.

Pic is always helpful.
I might be new to chameleon.. but I am pretty knowledgeable when it comes to plant.

pothos leaves is quite different than philodendron
(if you want to be safe, get the Golden Pothos. the leaves has some whites on it -like ficus benjamina).
While Philodendron is usually just green (although there are some which have the white part too) and has rounder heart shaped leaves.

here is the paragraph i stole from a site that i think will be helpful for you:

Firstly, the philos leaf is more "heart shaped". But the easiest we to tell a heart-leaf philodendron is that where each leaf leaves the stem you will find a "sheath" out of which the leaf unfurled. Pothos don’t have this. The roots on the pothos are also much thicker and ridged then on a philodendron. The stem of the pothos also has ridges that run it’s length while the philodendron’s stem is perfectly smooth and round. try going to a plant store and looking at the two side by side. You won’t have any trouble telling the two apart.

OK ... Thanks so much! I'm pretty sure that I have a Philodendron. Even though there is some white on the leaves they are heart-shaped and new leaves do come out of a sheath.

Anybody else have certain plants that they find work well? I'm also trying to figure out which plants I should put in my crested gecko enclosure.
