Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Veiled CHameleon, 1 year and three months (been in my care that same time), male.
Handling - Daily
Feeding - Crickets and Superworms, both gutloaded with product made specifically for each.
Supplements - Multivitamin once a week, calcium four times a week.
Watering - We give him water twice a day and mist the same.
Fecal Description - Moist brown with a slight tinge of off-white, slightly yellow end.
History - Has had previous shedding problems, gone through antibiotics due to cage inneficiency.
Cage Info:
Cage Type - Picture given
Lighting - Zilla Daytime and Nighttime at 100 watts.
Temperature - Temperature is 70-85. 85 baskspot (because baskspot is so close to lamp) and 70 at bottom. 75 throughout the night. We have temp. gauge
Humidity - We mist twice, plus the ground is damp so the heat creates a dense humidity about 55-60 percent.
Plants - Fake planets.
Placement - In front of a window. No draft, gets direct sunlight by 3-4 o clock.
Location - Central California. Central Coast area.
Current Problem - I just got off of work, come home, and find that my chameleon has a huge gash coming out of his tail. He's been fairly unhealthy, we went to vet, treated him with antibiotics for an infection. Finally, he started shedding, and sheds every two weeks. He is in a current shed, then I find this gash underneath his tail! Any ideas on what it is? We'll be most likely taking him to a vet but not immediately. Is there anything I can cover it with to keep it from protruding? We start school tomorrow and my lady and myself are there all day! Plus we have to make an appointment. Picture of it below.
