Nervous newbie

I'm curious if any of you found yourself to be very nervous and worrisome about your first cham. I find that even with the crazy amount of research I did that im still very nervous about caring for my little guy (and its only my 3rd day!)

Absolutely! I have not been keeping all that long and I am very nervous about all my scaly friends. I would be worried if someone was NOT worried. When things go wrong it often happens fast and intervention must be timely for it to help.

Yes, I was very nervous and worried and kept checking the empty cage to make sure everything was perfect. And Jann is right, the worry never ends! I have said this before, but the more you learn about them, (especially from being on here) the more you worry about and are constantly looking for things to go wrong! Well, I am atleast that way anyways.

Nervous? yeah Every single time I go to get the locusts ready to put in the viv, get worried that this is gonna be the time she strikes at the tub BEFORE i take the lid off

I am getting my first cham on Wednesday night and am SO NERVOUS! I want everything to be perfect for him and am scared of messing up...

Scared ? Always

Baby has 1 month with me already, the setup, the water and environment makes then very special. Feeling nervous always, is like a kid and to me i need to have eyes on her. :D

Yep, I've been keeping for about 5 years now, and they still make me nervous. It comes with the territory, I think. I subscribe to a Diving magazine whose tagline is that "A Good Diver is Always Learning", and I think you could substitute Chameleon Owner for Diver and be spot on. :D

When I am home I obsess about my boys. I think that is what fascinates me about them. The challenge of getting everything right, tinkering with feeders, working on my setups definitely keeps me engaged in the hobby. I have been accused of checking on my chams more frequently than the children... :p

No Worries!!

Hey your nervous that's okay. I am pretty sure it has happened to everyone owning their very own chameleon. I am fairly new to it to! Taking care of one of these little guys is completely worth the responsibility though. My little guy means the world to me, and things will be okay with proper caregiving. No worries, just keep and eye on them and make sure they are comfortable in their environment because that's important to them. Each day you may learn something new too about these reptiles so let the experience flow. :D

I was terrified for weeks, I got my first little guy in June and I still find days that I freak out and worry about him. Like yesterday my first day catching him shed and I thought he had a fungus on him but it was just the beginning of his skin shedding off. Being nervous is normal and it will slowly go away as you get more comfortable with your new scaly friend :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling nervous. I got my cage setup with temp probes everywhere, misting system, great lighting. I went crazy setting all this stuff up, I still don't have a Cham yet, I'm gonna order him in a week, and I'm nervous about it all. "NEW DAD" is definitely the proper phrase for it all.
