Hello Everyone! Need some help:confused: My panther chameleon has stopped eating and i'd like some feed back as to what I should do. Below is the Cham info. Any response is really appreciated! I will also try to attach pics.
Chameleon Info:

* Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
Ambilobe male about 5months old, I’ve had him for about 2 months

Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
In the last 2 weeks, about 4 x week.

* Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
Being feed crickets about 10 per day, in the morning. Gut-loading feeders with Flukers orange cube, high cal cricket diet, and cricket quencher. Also sometimes give them lettuce and carrots.

* Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
Dusting feeders with nature zone essential calcium(no D3) six days then rep-cal calcium with D3 twice a month and rep-cal herptivite twice a month.

* Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
Use automatic mister with distilled or purified water misting every 1 hour for 1 minute. Yes he is drinking water.

* Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
Brown and white and solid. Never been tested for parasites.

* History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.
Began eating and drinking right away when I got him. Has already shed once, about 2 weeks ago. Did have eye problems, one eye swelled a little and closed but I manually misted him couple of times and it went away.

Cage Info:

* Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
Screen cage 12x18x20

* Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule? Zoo med blue 60w basking light and Reptisun 5 UVB. On about 13hrs daily.

* Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
Basking area in low 90’s about 75 at night. Measured with digital therm

* Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
Between 60-80%, had to cover back and one side of cage with plastic to maintain these levels. Measuring with hygrometer.

* Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind? Using both. Live is pothos. Also have oak branches for basking area.

* Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
Located in a corner no fans or air vents nearby, low traffic. About 4ft off floor.
* Location - Where are you geographically located?
Miami, FL

Current Problem – He has not eaten in 3 days is still drinking water though. Is not moving around as much. But still goes to basking area and then mid cage at night to sleep. One eye again looks smaller and he is closing it sometimes. Both eyes look to be pulging too much in my opinion, but I’m new at this and might be overly concerned. 

they sometimes will go on a strike. maybe offer different feeders - silkworms, hornworms, moths, butterflies, flies, mantis, dubia roaches, etc. it is ultimately up to you but if you want to save yourself a lot of heart ache DONT give him superworms.

try reptivite instead of herptivite. as long as your lights are in good order use it in place of the herptivite. if you do switch i would disco the rep cal with d3 also.

What happened to make you dislike supers

my own trials and tribulations within my colony of chameleons and reptiles. trying supers as a staple on a select few chameleons (a panther and veiled). with them on a basic dry super worm diet (bran or oatmeal), random vegetable and correctly supplemented. your chameleon will eat them like candy for certain amount of time. not gutloading them properly and using as them as a staple. it is a matter of time.... the bug will cause your animal to go off of food for a long time. now depending on your chams health, it could really cause a lot of problems. i do have a point, so read on!

i know this will probably cause arguments. crickets unlike supers, on a basic dry diet or limited vegetable gut load. as long as they are supplemented correctly will sustain life in most cases.

i have a female veiled that is a little over one year. the prior owner did not gut load at all. she fed this chameleon nothing but crickets from a bait shop and supplemented with plain calcium only. this chameleon was in apparent good condition when i acquired her and still is. under the same circumstances with super worms. this would not be the case.

not sure if it is how the chameleon is griping him. he is clearly underweight. that might also play a factor in the way it looks but i do see what your talking about on the right wrist. maybe old break?

New panther won't eat?

I have a new Ambilobe panther chameleon. I've had him a week now. He is very healthy in appearance and is drinking. However, he hasn't ate yet. He is approx three months old. He is in a 18"x18"x36" screen enclosure. I have a dripper, and several pieces of foliage. The temp is usually around 75-80 and a basking spot of 85-87. He pretty much stays on the upper screen under the heat lamp all day and at night he climbs down to the lower portion of the cage. I've tried feeding him crickets several times but he won't eat. Only thing I can think of is he is overwhelmed because of a new environment. I heard sometimes they won't eat for a couple weeks because of a new environment. My roommate got a female the same day and she devours crickets. Please help. Thx.

He should be eating by now. Adults can go for quite a few weeks without eating but a baby should have a great appetite. What size crickets are you feeding? If they are too large he might shy away. Is he drinking? What type of lighting are you using for your UVB light? Have you tried any other type of feeder besides crickets?

He is drinking. I'm using a Exo terra UVB 5.0 and a Exo terra sun glo basking bulb. I have not tried any other food.
