Hey guys for starters my name is Dylan. I a new veiled cham owner, he is currently 4 months old. I have him in a nice exo terro terrarium that is 36” x 18” x 24” (WxDxH) and using:

For a basking light which I keep on 24 hrs, 75w, and a uvb 5.0 cfl exo terra bulb for uvb. I am not sure if this is right as I keep hearing and reading different things, can anyone link me the proper lights I should get for my cham?? I love the little bugger and only want the best, I read somewheres that the red basking light can disrupt sleep.

Also I currently only feed him crickets, dust the crickets twice a week with calcium. Abything else I can do? Any help would be appreciated.

If you are using a red bulb, switch that out to a white house bulb. Do not leave any lights on at night or heat unless your cage is going to get below 50 degrees. Lights on at night will disrupt sleep patterns. The 5.0 cfl is ok to use. Many or most of us use the tube style uvb's as they light the cage up better and cover more cage area.

Lights should only be on 12 hours a day no more no less and reptisun 5.0 uvb

They can be on more or less. They could get more than 12 hours of daylight in the summer months in nature. I like to have my lights go on with the sun and off when it gets dark outside. 12 hours a day is the standard, but it can be more or less if desired.

You also might want to change your supplement schedule. Most people use three types of supplements, Calcium no D3, Calcium with D3, and a multivitamin. For a veiled or panther chameleon, I'd suggest supplementing with Calcium no D3 daily and Calcium with D3 as well as multivitamin twice a month. Congrats on your new cham,
Jaden
