    Free ranging in a greenhouse

I would be able to move them inside in the winter due to cold temps in my area. Another question I was wondering is what about the possible high temps in the summer? Which chams like it a bit hotter? I would be able to have fans and misters to keep it cool but it would be still probable...

    Free ranging in a greenhouse

I am ordering a green house to set up at the new house. It is roughly 10X12. Is it possible to free range chams in a green house?

    Time to start planning

It is official the move should start this weekend or early next week. I will get some pics of the room once we get settled.

    Time to start planning

The frog set ups are all sealed so they will not be able to get in them. They are the chrome racks from Lowes with 4 ten gallons on each shelf. The one thing I was worried about it the light. I use shoplight on rack. Regular ole tube lights so there would be no danger of getting burnt. I...

    Weights on mellers

Does any one have the weights of their mellers? I was looking at an add for two LTC mellers and the weights were 150 grams and 250 grams... Just trying to gauge them with others. Thank you

    Time to start planning

The new house has been bought so time to start figuring out the free range. I would like to try mellers but I am not 100% set on that. The room is approximately 15X15. It will be set up mainly as a frog room with 4 ft chrome racks, approximately 6 of them. The room has many windows...

    Couple of free range questions

The house has been found and we are going to check it out this weekend. So I am a tad bit closer to getting there. Do mellers do well in groups? I am going to go with some fake and some live trees. I also plan to have some sort of outdoor enclosure for them during the warmer months.

    Couple of free range questions

Thank you Olimpia - That is exactly the kind of info I was looking for. Hand misting will have to do for the time being. Depends on how much the free range ventures over to the frog racks. My hand mister is one of those garden spray pumps so it is still a bit better than the hand spray...

    Couple of free range questions

With a move coming in my near future I had been tossing around some ideas. Which ever new house I end up with, 1/2 or more of the basement will be mine for the "frog" room. Depending on size I would like to set up a free range for a couple mellers. The only reason I have not done this...

    Spring tail ?

You can place it where every you would like in the tank. The springs are smalle enough they will go where every they want to go. Add some water to the container. The springtails will float and then just dump the water into the tank. The rice is food for the spring while in their culture.

What substrate for enclosure with egg laying females.

Springs are pretty small and most adult pygmies will avoid them. I had a couple babies hatch out in the tank and seen them eating springs on occasions.

    new pygmies coming this weekend

Thank you Laurie. I plan on making it very well planted with tons of driftwood, branches, etc. I am still not sure on what size the ending result tank will be. More than likely it will be a home built one. I should have plenty of time to get it done. They will be hanging out in 2's in 10...

    new pygmies coming this weekend

I currently have a small group of pygmies( brevs) at home. I am picking up a larger group this weekend. I know you are only suppose to put one male per tank. My question is how large of a tank would you need if you had more than one male? Or is it even possible?

    Waxy Monkey Frog Care

Which kind of waxy monkey are you talking about? Numerous frogs go by that name and most if not all are not suitable for a 10 gal tank

    Please Help The Raccoon's.

Jessica - No where did I say anything about driving off the road to hit an animal. I personally would never do that. I do try to avoid hitting anything on the road but again I am not going to endanger my life at all to try to avoid hitting a raccoon or any kind of wildlife. Am I slamming on the...
