I'm not 100 % sure but if he is a panther that may be apart of his aggressive or flared up colors. I've seen other panthers with that red throat. Don't quote me just what I think it could be. And if that's the case nothing to worry about

Yeah I would put in a new thing of bedding and all that, the longer you keep it in there, the more they poop, the more die off and you get that awful smell. I hate it too lol
