Lighting question on cage setup

I have taken an old cabinet and converted it into a cage for a chameleon hopefully but have a question. The top is wood and not screen but I have converted the sides to all screen to give the airflow needed. My plan was to install my lighting in the top of the cage on the inside, but I have read through some places that say the lighting shouldn't be on the inside?? Also My plan was to use a screw in Repti Sun 5.0 bulb but also read some conflicting information that this may not be as good as the long flourest type? I really want to be sure I have a good set up for my chameleon because I want him/her to be happy. Any suggestions would be great thanks.

I hope these pictures came through and help.:)

nice conversion so far

If you plan to put your uv light inside the case, put a screen between the lights and the rest of the case. Shit happens and it will, not to mention the presence of water from a dripper and misting etc...

You can mount he cfl uvb reptisun instead of the t8 tubular reptisun. If you mount your heat light source inside the case also make sure to drill some vent holes in the back around the light to help it vent off some excess heat.

You could cut out a section of the semi circle top and put screen on the inside top and have less issues to worry about.
