Just give them a little love I need to prep about another 100 cocoons today as they only have about 2-3 days before they start emerging

What do you mean prep?

Get the extra silk off of the outside of the cocoons it's not necessary but I do it!

Awwwwww! I absolutely LOVE silk moths! How long did they pupate for and did you provide any heating for them? Mine are about a week in now and I can't wait to have 'moffies' of my own! How many do you have? Are you containing the mating couples so that eggs are laid less randomly? I have got some plastic cups ready to place over mine! The moth stage is the best bit and so worth the hard work, although I am sick of the sight of mine now and the chams are fed up with them too!

Interestingly, I didn't disturb mine, but I have one silkworm that hasn't spun properly so you can see the pupa inside as there is only one layer of silk around it, like it's inside a bubble! Most odd, but I think it will still pupate successfully! I'll post pics later!

I will be removing the females as I can to do the cup trick
I have 300+ cocoons in all I'm hoping for cross breeding as I had equal amounts of zebra and regular silkies
I actually just made another thread about some silkies that didn't even bother spinning

No heating just put them in a closet at room temp!
Also they pupated for around 2 weeks I believe

I think silkworm moths are so cute, I'd feel bad feeding them off because of the cutness lol

Lol! I know that feeling! When I had my first moth emerge I hadn't realised just how cute they are - like little teddy bears with wings! I couldn't feed him off to the chameleons, and as I only had the one moth I kept 'Moffy' in a tub and he lived for 9 days!

I'm terrible I fed the first one off haha

All those eggs!!! Looks like a moth orgy going on right there, lol! I just wish mine would emerge, I'm still waiting. Is it 2 weeks from the start of the spin, or two weeks from after the four days before you can move them once they start spinning?

Haha around 2 weeks heck I'm terrible at keeping track of time all I know that they must smell the party going down cause now they're all emerging at once it's crazy I have 20-30 moths emerging everyday! Aaaaaaahh

I bet mine will emerge all on the same day, just like they all hatched at once!
