Jackson Mouth Issues

My female Jackson opened her mouth really wide and I saw cream-colored stuff in a fold in the very back corners of her mouth (on both sides). I took her to the vet and he tested the substance and said it was bacteria, but there were no white cells indicating she was fighting off an infection. Bacteria is normally present in everyone's mouths. He gave me an oral rinse to swab the area daily (said even if she was perfectly fine, this would not hurt her). He seemed to know what he was doing. But I am still worried. I've never had a cham before and I want to do everything right. Anyone ever see something like this? The cham has to open its mouth REALLY wide for you to see it. It is too difficult to get a photo. I saw a panther with its mount open wide and it didn't have that, but maybe it wasn't open enough or I shouldn't compare different types of chams. Any advice would be appreciated.

rm,
Its hard to say exactly what it is but I would trust your vet on his diagnoses and continue with the oral rinse daily. I checked my jacksons mouth and didn't notice anything unusual as you described. I'll try to get a pic later today so you can compare.

Ok, so I have looked at some of the pics online of other chams. The one I was comparing it to had a really pink mouth. Apparently, mouths come in multiple colors. I do feel better now. I will try to get a pic.

Jackson's have temporal glands in the corners of the mouth. Sometimes they swell and need attention....so keep an eye out for swelling.

You are right. That is the temporal gland!! I guess hers was not as moist as it should have been. I just bought a misting system and I have a dripper. Before I could only mist her before work and after work. Thanks for the helpful comments.
