My female Jackson opened her mouth really wide and I saw cream-colored stuff in a fold in the very back corners of her mouth (on both sides). I took her to the vet and he tested the substance and said it was bacteria, but there were no white cells indicating she was fighting off an infection. Bacteria is normally present in everyone's mouths. He gave me an oral rinse to swab the area daily (said even if she was perfectly fine, this would not hurt her). He seemed to know what he was doing. But I am still worried. I've never had a cham before and I want to do everything right. Anyone ever see something like this? The cham has to open its mouth REALLY wide for you to see it. It is too difficult to get a photo. I saw a panther with its mount open wide and it didn't have that, but maybe it wasn't open enough or I shouldn't compare different types of chams. Any advice would be appreciated.
