HPS or MH lights

I am building a large enclosure (72" tall) and am wondering if using smaller wattage High pressure sodium or metal halide light systems will be alright for my cham. I would want it for the plants to live and thrive but wonder if anyone has done this or if it is too much. IMO it would be great heat and lumens. Any experience would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, heat and lots of light...
except the spectrum could (probably will be) be all wrong.

Ho T5's (in an array w/ mixed UV a/b bulbs mixed w/ full spectrum 6.5k daylight)
with some halogen spots for basking spots would do the trick.

Maybe.. ...just maybe..... one 160w Mercury vapor in the light array... due to the size of the cage.

I would suggest you to light it the same way the pro's do it... and light it like a large zoo or museum of natural history would.

Cheers:D

The plans are still brewing but I work in a large machine shop so once the moment arrives its happening quick. Width and length are up in the air. I am wondering about the lights because the plants are a main part if it for me I have a dwarf papaya tree that I've been prepping for this tank as well as a lot of orchids a nice pitcher plant. The rest will be filler once it's starts coming together but I was wondering about lights because I have some of both and thought they would work great as long as they are ok for Rorschach!!
