How to free range in the cold N.E.???

My husband and I are hoping to free range our little hatchlings, eventually.

They are 6, 5 & 3 weeks old.

I'm just wondering if anyone on here free ranges and lives in the north east.
Our house is old and drafty, and we had to cover 3 sides of our FlapNeck's cage last winter (which was brutal).

If you do, would you mind sharing how you keep them warm?(beyond lights of course). Also, if you wouldn't mind sharing a photo, I would appreciate some ideas.

We've chosen the area of our home we want to put them in, but not sure if it's the best choice.

Also, concerned about cup feeding. Do you try to start them doing that when they're babies? Our little ones are good eaters, but we let them roam around and hunt them.

Thanks!

I live in Maine. It's Getting cold already and I'm not ready for winter at all!!
I currently free range my 7 month old Panther male full time and he's been free ranging since he was 5 months old. I had a Jacksons chameleon who free ranged all his life and lived till he was almost 8 years old.
So it definitely can be done even in the North East and your chams can be happy and healthy even in winter.

I guess really just have multiple spots for basking if you have a big area that your cham free ranges in.

Thanks guys. At what age can I begin cup feeding?

My 6 week old already seems ok walking on my hand. He never shows signs of anger or stress.

I spend lots of time watching him eat so he'll get used to me being around a lot.

Free ranging hatchlings - 6 months isn't probably the best idea. As hatchlings they venture everywhere. At 6 months, they just start puberty and males will definitely venture everywhere. Might even find one or two at your work. :D Feeding will also be very hard and providing that necessary UVB for a good start. After six months is a good time to start letting wander some. Still active, but less fragile and more experienced.
