hey everyone,
can an adult male veiled or panther take down an adult hisser by chance?
im thinking of getting some hissers.... maybe as a treat here or there?

I doubt any cham can take an adult hisser. Maybe a really huge cham, but I doubt it- I think they would take one crack at the shell and spit it out. Adult hissers are really tough even for adult bearded dragons to tackle. It's a lot of work and persistance for them to finish one off. I've done that with adult bearded dragons, but never chameleons, so I'm not positive about my answer.
I do offer hissers as food for my chams, but I don't offer the big adult and nearly adult sized hissers to them. I only feed baby and juveniles out.
They don't breed as quickly as other roaches, but the adults are kind of fun to have around and they are something for a little variety...
I dont know anything about hissers. But I do know its hard enough for my adult panther to get down a full grown male dubia. And dubias are softer bodied than a hisser.
