Smile Got My Veiled!!!

Ok guys i got my veiled cham. Let me know what you think. I'm super pleased with it's colors, it's so small and cute... they said its 5.5 months

Shes really shy right now, shes coming around with feedings though, shes got a great appetite....

I could barely get this photo before she ducked away, also a finished pic of my setup.

thanks for all the help guys and gals on the setup!!!!

the closer to the repti sun the better i hope as i have it within 1" of her head in her normal basking spot....

also to just to clarify what should she eat per day, from tip to tip id say shes 6" to 7" in length, "sudjestions on what to feed her" and "how many per feeding" and "how many times per day".

currently ive had her three days and ive fed her 15 1/4 size crickets per serving once a day.... then one wax worm or one mealworm later in the day

The setup is looking nice! And your tarantula is looking VERY interested in what is going on in that corner of the room!

oh also to how often do you all dust your crickets with repcal and herptivite, i was told for females if you dont want them to lay eggs dont over dust your food, and dont over feed.

You still need to dust but if you keep the temps lower....low 80's and feed less this will help keep them from laying eggs. Read Raising a Female Veil under Raising Kitty.

As her age you should feed everyday....6 to 8 crickets. Check out this site:http://raisingkittytheveiledchameleon.blogspot.com/

You said..." i was told for females if you dont want them to lay eggs dont over dust your food, and dont over feed"...the calcium dusting is important IMHO to do at most feedings because most of the feeder insects have a poor ratio of calcium to phosphorous. Its fairly difficult to overdose the calcium as long as you don't overdo the D3 and give the chameleon a chance to move out of the UVB if it needs to. (This being said, don't get carried away with the calcium...the crickets shouldn't look like ghosts!)

Also, can you try to post a picture of the whole chameleon from the side?
