hmm yeah im jus tryin this one without as they dont eat plants its not that important and humidity is kept high with the other four screen cages in the room, all are sprayed heavily twice a day.

Live plants are not just for eating. They maintain humidity (in close range-in the cage) and hold water droplets better than any fake silk or plastic plants. They are a much more natural cage addition. Mellers require alot of water. Have you had him long?

They don't eat plants? My Mellers literally shoot their tongues at mustard greens in my hands, also there are large chunks missing out of my pothos. Where does your humidity hover around?

Good Luck,

Todd

oh and whats "good luck" meant to mean ??. could you post some pics of your meller enclosure ? that might give me some ideas...

I also mist 4x a day, two of which are 30 minutes long. If you look in the very top two corners of my cage there are two Mist King nozzles. Hydration is extremely important. I recommend your morning misting to be the longest.

The enclosure measures 36"x23"x5' and my Mellers are both 1 year old captive hatched.

and why good luck? Because we all need luck on our side :)

See Ya,

Ok thanks todd that looks great , how do you drain your water away?

Notice the racks I made out of 2x2"s they have plastic sheeting suspended below them with one hole at the very bottom draining into moveable tubs. I mist ALOT so I run a lot of water thru.

Ok cheers , do those misting systems have an adjustable angle on the water , so it doesnt spray "outside" the enclosure?

that room look great!!

The misting heads are adjustable, there is also different nozzles for the head that have different spray angles. I believe mine are 90 degrees. The mist is generally so fine that it beads up on the screen and never comes out anyhow.

See ya,

Todd

Can't tell till they're adults, with eggs is a female, and a male most of the time will get much larger than a female
