How often do panther chameleons need UVB rays? Recently I've had my cage open for my male panther chameleon (he always wants out!) A vine goes from his cage to a fake tree but I have no UVB light or basking light where the fake tree is and he seems to hang out in it a lot. I'm wondering if this would be a problem since he's not under the UVB for so long.

They like being high up, and if you give them the option to, they will most likely go as high as they can. If he is spending the vast majority of the day away from UVB and natural sunlight, I would suggest moving the bulb to where he likes to hang out.

I agree, just move the bulb to where the chameleon likes to hang out, easy peasy, lol
