Drip System problem..

While I was reading your site, I came upon a problem.. You guys said

"The dripper drips at a rate of about one drop per second and lasts most of the day. I have a Rubbermaid collection container in the bottom of the enclosure to catch the water. It is a good idea to rubberband some netting over the top of this container to avoid drowned feeders and keep your cham safe. It is also a good idea to clean this container, the mister and the dripper fairly often with a 10% bleach /water solution and rinse very well.
Drainage systems have been devised by many keepers and are a good idea...particularly if you decide to employ an automated misting system".

Well okay im going to try to explain this. I have a drip system, BUT! I have the water falling at a rate of a drip every 5 seconds, BECAUSE! I have it fall into the ficus, and so when the water is falling down the tree, it goes into the roots and then into a container that is holding the ficus, (if that makes sense)

Well if I had it going about a drop per second, then it would fill up well over night I would say, and I would half to change it out everyday. Witch im not complaining about its just that wouldn't that be bad for my chameleon (Godzilla)?????

Just trying to think of a good way to do it..

u can get a bigger container and use a plant raiser to avoid the pot touching the water.
I change those once a week.

I empty the collection containers at least once a day.
There are no plants in the equation.
Your going to kill that ficus with that much water.

Ficus

Ficus don't do well with a ton of water. Basically you want to water it only when the soil feels dry a few inches down. I'm with Brad on this one.

ficus is a type of plant that drives when it is allowed to dry completely old before it is thouroughly watered again
