Crazy cresties

I offered my big male crestie a fairly smallish hornworm last night, he crawled up to it really slowly, squeaking constantly, very quietly, got close enough to lick its face a few times, turned to look at me, then ran away... strange little beast. I thought he'd like a change! The cresties are only really used to crickets, but since discovering dubias are so much easier to keep, I'm trying to switch them over, but they aren't convinced so far.

You should have videoed that horn worm intro, it sounds hilarious.

Side note some of the colors on your signature are very hard to read. You know me, I like to know what people have.:)

Tehe. I agree with laurie, should have got it on tape.

My new crestie loves to try to kill herself.

she will jump off anything without looking.

;)

But I love rainbows! I'll fix it for my Loz though :p

Baby cresties are the most insane, size of a fingernail and faster than lightning, terrifying to handle!

Haha! My Leo's do that too! Usually when theyre shedding and all freaky! They keep licking the locusts and im like "it's not lollipops" then they bolt!

Funnily enough our albino Leo does that! No matter how high up! Then runs away behind the nearest thing he can get behind!

Someone's feeling scruffy... time for fresh duds.

Thank you! She is very cute. She squeaks at me when I tickle her armpits while she's sleeping. I'm horrible like that.

Haha! Buffie squeaks at me when I stroke her head too much. I think they sound like baby crocs, lol! Splat won't often eat live either - he was the same as yours when I offered him a silky. Silly boy! Buffie, on the other hand, will eat almost anything! She will often misjudge a jump and leap too far only landing by catching her toenails on something, but Splat has taken to leaping into thin air and it scares me silly! The other day I was trying to wash stuck shed off his toe and he just leapt out of my hand ... and landed in the washing up bowl! I think cresties must be missing a few brain cells sometimes, lol!

They are pretty crazy! The babies are totally insane though. I've banned anyone from trying to handle them.

Moved my girls from the lounge to the kitchen and they have started waiting by the door to see what I'm doing and ask to run up my arms!

Took some pictures of two of my 7 babies this evening. These are my only patternless ones. Big dark one calmed down very quickly, little light one, no chance! Leap of faith every step... Kamikaze. Noticed that big one wags its tail like a cat when its stalking crickets! Never seen them do that before!

I'm so sorry Camimom, I'll ship him off to you soon!!! Promise!!!

Gave the sprogs little silkworms tonight, they love them! They don't move fast enough for the grownups to show much interest, but the babies had fun. Saw two pulling either end of one worm, and shaking their heads like puppies!
