Check out the New Enclosure

Hey all,
Hope you guys had a Happy & safe Xmas and New Year!

Well as some of you may remember, I had to purchase a cham enclosure fromm LLLReptiles as we don't have them here in my Country....Well I was away over xmas and have just finished popeye's new enclosure, hooray!

I made a pine base/box with a door to house water pump and all electricals, timers etc, all out of sight now, unreal. I also took the great idea from one of you guys (trying to recall who that was, but cheers anyway) and installed a pull out drip tray instead of the conventional bucket, you know the one that slides on rails. I'll show you pics of the base and drainage and electrical systems, when I tidy it all up, I literally just finished it and am quite pleased with the results, especially having the old exoterra flexarium as popeye's home for the first 7 months of his life!
Maybe you guys have some suggestions to tweak it a little.
The enclosure is pretty well decked out with plants, although the fern at the bottom and the orchid are plastic, but it fills the area quite well hey! The ficus, umbrella and air-plants are all real, which were in his last enclosure. I haven't added his hibiscus yet, still deliberating on whether to do so.
Lighting is as before, 1 x basking lamp, 2x18w Reptisun 5.0 flouro UVB and 2x18w grow light for plants. I also plan to add a crown to the top of the enclosure to hide the lights, obviously stained the same colour as the base.

Misting is done again as before, with a pro-mist 60, still trying to work out the best position of the nozzles! Take a look at where they are and some "own experience" advice will be appreciated. I have this time, added a small aquarium heater to the bucket housing the misting water, hopefully popeye won't run as much as he used too when his misting sessions start!
I have also added a humidifier, as you can see from one of the pics, again still trying to work out the best size and shape of dish to put it in, this humidifier seems to splash alot of water about...ANY SUGGESTIONS GUYS/GALS? I do have a you beaut type for the Family, but i'm not allowed to use a $150 humidifier just for the cham...so the Boss says.
I started a thread recently pre-empting the arrival of the new enclosure, asking how people "fix their vines/furnishings to these type of enclosures", well I just removed the pvc pipes from the exoterra flexarium and installed them inside the new enclosure...look at the pics it's the black tubing everythings tied too, easy and no drilling into the frame or penetrating the screen with ties etc.
Sorry for the long post, but i'm giving you guys all the info, so as to get some good constructive critisicm, hope you like it!
Cheers
Scott.
:)

A 10  NO, I have seen a few better ones than this on this site alone!
But thanks heaps for the compliment...keep em coming.LOL
Honestly, it took a bit over a day, including making the box, it was a long day because I had to use parts from popeye's old enclosure, so it had to be finished so he had a home for the night.
I actually have just returned home with a shower curtain which I plan to put on the side of the enclosure that is against the wall, well it's actually 1 1/2 sides.
Anyone have any suggestions on the misting nozzle position and the humidifier container?
Cheers
Scott.

definitely gorgeous!
but, seems it's going to be pretty hectic to clean even once in a month when the cage gets too dirty, no?

I hope not dodolah... you can't really see with those pics, but there is only 2 x pot plants sitting on the base of the enclosure and the fake fern is mounted on a spike and is stuck into a hole drilled into the pvc bottom and therefore raised off the bottom.
I actually made a conscious effort to keep the bottom of the enclosure clear, so as not to cover the drainage holes and of course for cleaning reasons.
Thanks for the comment mate..:)
Following pics of bottom of enclosure, storage area and pull out drainage tray.
Cheers
Scott.

WOW scotty! I like how you have it all hidden!. Good idea with the little plastic borders so the water drains in the middle! I wish I had thoughtof that.... I do need to drill a hole in the middle of my plastic bottom... the plant makes it droop and collect water.

i just poke a hole in the top center of my cage. it creates a pretty even spray pattern and the water runs down along the leaves.

Scotty-Just saw this post and wanted to let you know it's an excelllent design and craftsmanship. Realizing it is quite a bit later now; I would like to have a copy of the plans or link to the plans you used to design and build this home. Could you post it or email to me? Again congrats on the build.
