CFLs and UV

I have always wondered how much UV regular bulbs put out. Based on this it seems that most have negligible amounts. I wish I owned a meter. i have always wondered how much mine are actually getting even with the special lamps. With distance, screen, etc, there are many variables and I just never feel comfortable not knowing.

Hi, it is a dilemma we all deal with. Speaking from experience, having a solarmeter really is the only way to be confident of your numbers.

Light Your Reptiles (a sponsor here) has them at a great sale price right now.
Check them out.

I have vastly different numbers on different bulbs, mesh, and distance, the only way to know, is to know :D

at the moment, with a new 5.0 48" zoomed linear, factory mesh, a distance of 4", I am getting a 95 read. other times, same entities, a read of 32.
