would it be good to feed baby veileds baby silkworms plus the 1/8 crickets?

like maybe 7 crickets and 7 silkworms a day.

baby phoenix worms work great. Mine loved them. When she was about 2 months old I could never be sure how many crickets she was eating, so I always supplemented her with phoenix worms, she loves them.

The only problem with feeding worms to babies is if you don't have them well seperated after eating worms they see each others tails moving and think it's a worm and you end up with allot of nip tails.

That may happen to some. I have fed small silkworms only once and that was a week a go. And i have none that act that way toward each other.

Lizbeth fed worms and had a whole clutch just about of nip tails. I wouldn't recommend feeding worms until you get them one to a cage.

How frequently did she do that? That may have been the problem. If she was to do that more then once, i would assume they would get used to seeing worms and then thats when they get confused with tails.

She fed them one container of phoenix worms but had several babies per cage and I know my babies were constantly fighting that's why I had to keep them seperated. I could see them nipping tails and legs even not feeding worms but she said the worms caused it.

I agree with Jann. I would not feed worms to a clutch of babies until they have been seperated. There are plenty of other feeders available.

That is why i said i assumed. I tried it once and i can promise you both that i will try when they are bit older again

Sorry for the hijack Fate X
Wait, so knowing another member has had issues with feeding worms in the past you are going to try feeding the worms again to see results regardless? Or am I misunderstanding you (hopefully)?

ive never had this problem. I have always used various larva with panther hatchlings only 2 weeks old and ongoing. Never had a tail nipped, even in group housing. I think offering baby silkworms and such is a good idea. Variety from the start helps ensure good nutrition, and ensures the chameleon recognizes various forms/shapes of bugs as prey.

I have also never had any problems, I loved feeding the little quads silkies and watching them eat. Not a tail nip in the bunch.
