Another Roach Question

When going from crickets to roaches for feeders, how many adult roaches do you give your adult chams? I have adult veileds and they do love roaches. Do you treat with calcium w and w/o D3 the same as the crickets?

What type of roaches are you using? Large Dubia nymphs are about the mass of 3 adult crickets. I would just adjust that way accordingly. I would dust them that same schedule as you would crickets, because I think they are not any more superior as far as calcium is concerned, but don't quote me on that.

I will be feeding discoid roaches which as adults are pretty large. Probably I will be feeding off anything I can catch.

You would dust the same as you do crickets. I never feed the really large ones to any of the chams except Padre, the 500 gram parson. My adult veileds that will eat them, I feed the medium size ones. I use a variety of feeders never just roaches but I would think what jdog said above would be correct.

I would say that a large, fat discoid nymph is probably worth 5 or so large black crickets. You just have to use your brain and give them what seems logical to you. I dust the same way as with crickets, supers, and meaworms.

My 6 mo panther will usually eat about 4-5 med black crickets ( of course I mix it up with his food) but if he eats a dubia nymph med/lg that is all he wants for the day. He is strange because he goes on binges and will only eat one type of feeder and without notice will switch to a different feeder and only except that. Lately its been dubias.
