I’m a firm believer in using real plants in an inclosure, for many reasons, but it gets hard when certain plants grow slower than others. That’s where Miracle gro indoor plant food spikes fit in, literally within a couple days you’ll see insane growth
I only handle him maybe once or twice a week at the absolute maximum, so maybe. Right now I use a fogger that drips during the day since it’s pretty dry this winter where I’m at, and that keeps the humidity correct. He is almost 12 months old now so I feed him every other day mainly dubia roaches.
My chameleon has been acting normal, eating without issues, had constant water dripping, but his skin is saggy in some positions. He is a shy drinker and eater, so I can’t tell if he’s dehydrated and needs more water. These are two photos I took yesterday showing him with and without wrinkles.
I am a relatively new chameleon owner (around 6 months) and my little guy just ended a hunger strike from anything other than super worms. So my advice to any new chameleon owners is to be careful with super worms
I talked to my friend who grows and he made it seem like the only marijuana plants that wouldn’t be too sticky for your chameleon would be male plants. Male plants do not grow buds, only seeds
I have hear that chameleon typically don’t like being directly sprayed, but since I’ve gotten my guy, he never has hid from the sprayer and sometimes will come out for it. He is a shy drinker so I do try to make sure he is hydrated, he always has very white urates
Is this just a quirk
I got my chameleon 3 months ago, and recently I made him a custom cage. I’d like to get some opinions about the cage.
The cage is 32” x 32” x51”
The base has a partial slope for the water to collect near the front
I have 2 uvb bulds since the mesh is dense stainless steel
Awesome, I think you are right. It is a large plant that changes his enclosure a lot
He is clear of parasites. From what I experienced FL Chams is an amazing breeder with some beautiful chameleons
