Where is the best place to purchase lighting equipment?

I've gotten suggestions for sponsors and such, trying to get a visa gift card so I can get something online if needed.. Looking for someone who doesn't try to rip you off with shipping and handling but still provides trustworthy equipment.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, all the choices confuse me.

lllreptile.com
Haven't seen anyone that sells uvb light around 13 bucks or cheaper beside that company.

lllreptile.com has the best pricing IMO. I hate those gift cards because you can never use every cent on them. If the total is $.01 over the total on the card it'll be denied. But it sounds like a great option for those who do not have a debt card. Credit cards are a big no no IHMO. Been there, done that and finally I'm almost out of the hole.

Sadly I have no way of getting a credit card or debit card. I don't make enough. *rolls eyes* Thank you both. :)

That isn't true...I got my debit card in high school with my little free checking account. You can get one easily- just go to the bank of your choice and tell them you want a free checking account and debit card. Many have cool student accounts. Ask about it!

yeah i know they do highschool checking accounts, atleast i know wellsfargo gave me one years back...but yeah LLL is rediculous...i believe brad mentioned it in another thread but they sell 18"-48" for the same price of 13.99!!! amazing!!!! this has deterred my klepto impulses...just buy from them legitimately. hah:)

Ok, I'm going to butt in here with a related question: Where is the best (read cheapest but still good) place to buy a 24" FIXTURE for the UV tube?? Lowes and such used to have them, but stopped carrying ones for a T8 bulb since people seem to want 'slimmer' fixtures for closets now. The cheapest I've seen online was $35, and I'll get it if there's nothing else, but I'd rather not spend that much on a simple lamp. :)

I bought a cheap fixture at Lowes for an 18" bulb. Now I feel like I should have saved my money. There is no reflector or anything on it so I thing it wasting a lot of the UV that would otherwise be going into the enclosure. and the on/off swith is inconveniently located on the part of the fixture that faces down because its designed to go under a cabinet. one of my next purchases will be a fixture with a reflective hood on it designed for reptiles. unfortunately I found out about LLL after I already bought the reptisun 5.0 18" bulb at the petstore for $25!!

I got my 48" fixtures at Home Depot for $9 each. My bulbs fit fine. Also, for ones without reflectors, you can do what I did and get metallic tape (it is like sticky foil) and line the inside of the fixture with it before putting the bulbs in.
