What do the Green Squares represent?

I see these little green squares all the time in the posts (they are in the top right hand corner). Some folks have more than others and sometimes, the squares appear to be in different shades.

Can someone explain what they represent?

I believe they represent "Reputation". I'm not sure how you get or give them(if you even can).

i think its rep points..

And if i correct you get them from answering questions and helping others? when i had 2 rep points it said i got them because of... and there was a link to a page where i helped another person.

They are for reputation, to add to someones elses rep, just click on the little picture of scales in the top right corner, just above where it says join date, location, posts, etc...

Some people are overzealous when using them especially when they have friends on the forum. Can of worms oops!!

I didn't even know what they were until recently. I thought it was for number of posts.
