Update on 'Isis'

Well, Isis is starting to turn yellow so Isis is a boy. However, he has only grown about a gram and a half in weight after 300+ feeders in three weeks. I think I just have a small Cham.

I'll probably post pictures later. What should I rename him? I prefer gods fom Greek/Egyptian mythology and famous generals/people in ancient Rome.

Well, with the help of other members, I have decided against getting bloodwork done since he indeed is so small, maybe if he gets bigger and still isn't normal sized I will.

Keep the name suggestions coming guys! I like the ones so far, but I'd like other peoples opinions. :) if it helps to know a little about his personality, he used to he afraid of me but as of the last two months or so he has started to become a bit bolder and will even puff up at me sometimes.

Ok Kara,

How about Isosceles? :D It sounds a little like Isis...right? Okay, okay, Fail. But the ancient Greeks did invent geometry...

Janus, god of doors :D Because he puffs up and gets angry when you enter through his door!

or Icus from Hercules the movie =D Sounds like isis! He was the messenger of the gods.

My dog's (pug) name is Isis.
I used Sobek for my first male.
Then my gf threw me off track.
Second male got appropriately named 'karma'.
First female was named Sandy
So I also need to get back on track with my second female.

Ok so you are basing his general health on people that have no veterinary experience whatsoever and if they do, they shouldn’t be diagnosing health issues from a few pictures off the internet. Ingesting 300+ insects in a short period of time with no weight or size gain indicates some kind of underlying condition to me.

He also won’t grow up with gender identity disorder if his name remains ‘Isis’.

care of wiki
Dolos (Δόλος), spirit of trickery, cunning deception, craftiness, treachery and guile

random roman minor gods....
Nemestrinus God of the woods.

adopted gods......
Attis Phrygian God of growth, fertility and vegetation.

i dont know if my resources are correct or not...just thought these names were interesting

no....i think your wrong....concidering isis is still small geting blood could be difficult and far to stressful on the cham. Pssh is very good in decision making and discussing her issues privately with very experienced members....im sure there are a few vets on here that dont disclose that info simply because everyone woul be blowing them up with stupid issues that anyone on here with a few yrs of exp can answer.....such as when it is ok to get blood testing on a cham...i wouldnt rule out a fecal though.....anyone on here can suggest different ways of handeling issues...this gives options for the person. some theymay not have thought of..its is solely that persons decision on what road to take.......i do not beleavePSSH will endanger her cham in any way

I agree with Trace on this one. You should consult a vet about it. He may in fact be too small to perform bloodwork on but at the very least you could get a fecal, possibly an x-ray to check for bone calcification issues, etc. Worry less about his name and worry about his health.
