T quadricornis eggs :D

Hoj

Friendly Grasshopper
So Zuri my female quad mated with my dear boy Zhon (rip) just over two months ago. Well she had stopped eating and was acting a little different so in went the laying bin yesterday. I dug two test holes and came home last night to find only one and a thinner looking female. Weights confirmed she had gone from 66g to 48g overnight. So the digging started and I found 9 little perfect eggs. I am so happy as I have been working towards this for some time. Now I wait.
Ah ha I see one

Thx for looking. Any tips tricks or comments are appreciated. This is new to me.

Yay!! Good thing you got to mate her with your boy Zhon before his passing. Maybe one little boy will stick out to you and remind you of Zhon:)

Thx guys. I'm a long way off from planning the selling of any. But most will be headed for breeding programs. As I feel a decent cb population needs to be established before these beautifull Chams should enter the market as pets. If all goes perfect ( which is rare ) I have another gravid female that was mated with a different males so I may have unrelated CB pairs which could provide possibilities for new breeding programs. Again I am still a Kim way from getting to that point. Alot still needs to go just right.
Thx all

Cool you have eggs. There may be a problem. First Mika, cutest little dog around, then eggs to get more babies. Laura may think th two of you are getting ready to produce a human baby!!

Little Hoj letts running around.

Also Laurie just might get them all lol. She has been such a huge help throughout the whole process.

Yes hatching is the next hurdle.

And Laurie I don't think human babies would do well in my cages on crickets and a mistking blasting them. LoL

This is the laying bin I used this time. I have to admit I would usually use a solid color not opaque. I use a mixture of sand and soil. On one side there is more sand and on the other more soil. The bottom is mostly soil that is packed in a bit harder. And the top is mostly a layer of sand.the quads seem to be a bit picky about where to lay so this something I am trying for a few reasons and have been meaning to do a thread about it but have not gotten to it. Hope that helps.

Excellent work Hoj - You'll probably be dispensing breeding pairs all round North America sometime next year then :D.
It would be great fun to keep track of that sort of thing so that in a few years you'll be able to say that you helped Quads become more fully established in captivity. Maybe somewhere down the line they'll even migrate my way..........

Great job!
Just wondering how old the female is? I have a little girl and wondering at what age I should find her a mate. Thanks!

Best of luck with all the eggs! ;) Hope to see some hatchlings soon! (How long should this take?) Hoping for healthy baby chams!!! ;)
