Hi all, I was wondering if we might be able to get some of the senior members on the forum to comment on what they use for dusting their crickets. I'd like to see if there is a consensus as to what is the best. Lately I've been hearing tons of people mention Repashy, before that I saw a lot of mention of Kricket Krack, and today I saw someone mentioning Dinofuel, or sumpn like that. Anyway, I thought it would be nice if the senior, more experienced members would throw in their two cents. I've been using the Reptical stuff up to this point, but was reading earlier on another link about the Repashy, and like the idea of not having to dust with different supplements.

Hope you seniors can take this request and help some of us with out the experience that you all have out.

Thanks.

Thanks for your opinion. Hopefully everyone will keep it civil. I know people will have their own opinion, hopefully they can respect that others may have differences. I just thought it would be interesting to hear from everyone, there are just so many supplements to pick from.

Well cricket crack is not used for dusting it is used for gutloading your crickets with so that they are more nutritious for your chameleon when eaten.

As far as a good supplement to use for dusting I would say that the Rep Cal products are the most commonly accepted and widely used supplement powders around here. The Repashy Calcium Plus has recently gained popularity as some have mentioned that their chameleons have done very well after they switched to the product and are thriving. An advantage of the Repashy all in one supplement is that you will no longer need to have multiple products for dusting and will no longer have to have a schedule. For $10.00 you can have everything you need for dusting.

Hi
You're mixing supplements with gutloads.

There likely wont be a consensus on supplementing, as we are all in so many different situations. What works for me / my animals may not work for you. Needs differ between species, gendres, ages, amount of time outside, what you gutload with, etc.

Popular calcium products are Rep-Cal and Mineral-O

Which vitamin powder you choose will largely depend on how you gutload and whether or not you want to supplement with preformed vitamin A.
I use herptivite.

There are also many "Mixes" like Nutribol or the new Repashy product (Repashy makes both gutloads and supplement dust), where you might use just one product all the time (and hope that its not over-doing anything)

I personally prefer to use a plain vitamin and phosphorous free calicum product most days of the week (but only on those prey that actually require dusting), and add other supplements as I deem necessary according to my gutloading choices, prey choices, sunlight access, etc.
