I just brought my new little man home yesterday and I was just wondering about the sleeping habits of the panther cham... I know the first week I am going to be worring about everything... :) any advice would be wonderful...

Thanks......

They will sleep from can't see to can't see.;)

Mine are on their sleeping spots about 20-30 mins prior to lights out, and rise about 30 mins prior to lights on at 8am. My lights are on a 8am and off at 8:30 pm.

Post some photos of your chameleon and set-up, so we can ensure your on the right track.

my boy Splat goes to his sleep spot about half hour before the lights are out.
yet unlike Jay's chams, mine doesn't start to move around for about a half hour after the lights come on.

This is what he's in for now... I am building him a new cage...

When do you plan on having his cage done? You definitely need to make use of live plants in your cages, the more cover you can provide the better off you'll be (typically). How often do you change out the water collector on the bottom?

Do you have a uvb light? he need a uvb to survive.
i recommend ReptiSun 5.0 LINEAR tube:

Welcome to your new little man. How old is the little person? I have that same cage and use it for a baby panther who weights 2 grams. I have 2 good size bonsai trees in it for her and a couple of small bio vines. Little ones will like places to hide from us big monsters.:D Also if you use a basking light I would only use a 25 watt. Enjoy.

If everything goes the way its planned by wen. it should be done... I am going to be having tons of plants and vines and all that... Its going to be about 7 feet tall and its going to have a door so during the day when I am home he can get out on a big branch thats going to come across the wall.... I can't wait to it finished to show everybody.... :D

I try to get to change it, as often as I can.... I am going to be getting some mesh to put over it when I am at work just in case he may fall....

That sounds good. But more importantly, as dodolah asked, do you have a UVB light?
