Hi, I'm new. Have 2 yr old Cham named Bruce Banner. (Original I know lol) we got him at about 6 months of age or as estimated by the store. Everything's been great until a bad shed. He had skin in his eye. We went to the vet, AND the ER yesterday with him. 1st visit, good behavior still hunting with one bad eye. Got some broad spectrum eye antibiotic. Some improvement. Yesterday, he was slow, both eyes closed slightly sinking in
$220 later we have 4 x-Ray pics and a husbandry antibiotic and feeding kit. Little saringes. The administered a tiny shot for fluids. In reading this forum I decided to join. This is our first cham. I recently changed jobs so Bruce experienced some changes too. (I'm mom and my better half is dad) well dad's been feeding him now in the mornings. Hes been dusting with calcium that has d3. I fear it's the cause of little Bruce's ailments. I use a blue liquid additive for his water, it takes out chlorine and has electrolytes and calcium. I dust rarely if at all once or twice a month, when I dust I was using the calcium with d3 and reptivite vitamin on them. His cage is 24x24x36. Hes been super happy, is very social oddly and loves to come out with me in the sun for a few Times a week for maybe 15-20 mins. Not too long, I'm a ginger and he's just tiny if Sun exposure is questioned. Hes misted every few hours by a mister, and I spray him occasionally, he even drinks from my spray bottle. One nostril is slightly swollen, and has a whitish around it. I fear daddy has dusted too often and he's suffering the d3 effects. Hes had his second saringe feeding. His eyes are not so sunken, he's a nice green. But sleeping A LOT. So far on my hand now almost two hours. HiS little feeties are peach again. We had a dripper and still do but he licks his leaves and takes from the bottle, he is aware of the spray bottle and drinks til he doesn't want any more. Cage is at temp 79-83 on the top cooler at the bottom. 100watt red heat, and his sun bulb. Lights are on a timer. Cage is kept clean. Felt bottom. I let him hunt his crickets, no cup, as he seems to prefer vs the cup as we have tried. Crickets horn worms butter worms. Occasionally meal worms. This place has a multitude of info and I hope to contribute and learn. His pic is up to date from this morning. Thankful for this place and appreciate any info!
