My new veiled cham I have had for a week keeps rubbing her eye on the branch and blinking real funny. Looks like she has a bulge inside her lid when she moves it around. No puss, crust, or anything that I can see. Any Ideas?!
It may be a vit. A issue, or something in the eye. Put the came in a like-warm shower 4 like 15 min, and gut -load, gut-load, gut-load!!! Make sure u r giving them the proper supplementing.
I've been gut loading the crickets. I just threw a few carrots in there to amp up their Vit. A. I have the fluker's orange squares and mustard greens in there too.
mine bulge and roll their eyes around in their sockets to rinse. How much misting is he getting?
Maybe a nice long warm shower, 15/20 min will help him clean out his eyes. It's a quick, easy, inexpensive thing to try first.
I mist on a timer 5min every 2 hours, plus a dripper and hand spray with really warm water everyday. plus weekly showers for all of them. I use about 30 gallons a week in misting!
I have a fogger set up and I mist twice a day. I'm afraid I'll stress her out if I put her in the shower. Will I kill her from stress? I've just read so much and there is so much to go from, I don't want to do anything wrong. I read they don't like to get wet.
Mine happen to love the warm water, they actually come to the mist when it is warm. Can you imagine how it would feel if you had dry eye and no relief? mist down through the top, for 5 min, walk away, do another 5 min. He will appreciate the hydration and the chance to rinse his eyes
make sure the water is really warm
you can also try a drop of simple saline in each eye, that too helps
nothing fancy, otc regular saline, nothing added ( no visine, or other products)
I may have to try that tomorrow. I sprayed her down again with warm water. She just doesn't want to open that one eye. A drop actually landed on it, and she still wouldn't open it. I took her out and moved it around a bit and she finally opened it, but after a few seconds, she immediately closed it back. I'll check and see how she is in the morning....it's bedtime for her. Thank you and I will update.
