red light at night in my chameleon room

I took a ceiling fan out of my chameleon room and in stalled an overhead red light for night time. I work days and only have time at night to work on my chameleon room. The light is a 2 bulb picture w/ the red flourescent energy star bulbs (from Lowes) Is this OK for my chameleons?? 2 hours a night 4 days a week? Any answers will help. Thank you

I THINK.... that if they are not on the whole night, and you said they werent.... it should be okay. its not commonly advised to go pokin around them while they sleep. but we all got schedules... try blocking off the windows so they dont see daylight and trick them into being awake during your hours.... just a thought. run your lights later so you dont have to bother their sleep?

I've heard of people doing this with other animals and it worked pretty well. If you were to try and change their sleeping schedules I would suggest doing it in increments. Also, you would need to make sure they get misted enough at night meaning you may been to be awake at weird hours if you are not already.
