The photo credit on that red panther says "near Ambanja" so I think one would have to take the author at his word.

From my quick look at the maps it appears Ambanja and *Ankaramy* are about 25km apart.
 
Yep that was def an Ank. I believe that the banjas and anks locales cross over one another. Which is interesting because from everything Ive read and experienced Ambanjas are much easier to breed and raise the young. Ank breeders have been having problems getting eggs to hatch at term and other issues with neonates also. With them being located near each other you would think they would have very similar husbandry and breeding needs.
