Im sorry but that is not 100% Mitsio. I dont care what you "experts" say, its not pure. loks like Ambilobe/mitsio or nosy be/mitsio.

Screameleons do breed crosses! Mitsio do not have blue stripes, or red spots hence me thinking theres a possible Nosy be or Ambiobe gene in there somewhere.

I would say hes a mix with nosy be. The pic with the little girl in it looks just like a green nosy be. The red spots on the belly and back indicate nosy be too so does the face. I know you dont want to hear it but it is not a pure Mitsio. Take a look at the mitsios on screameleons website, you can see the difference a mile off. Also, look at the very bottom of their gallery, they breed crosses, sorry "designer crosses". A mistake has been made somewhere.

This is why I asked you to tell me what you see on him that makes you say cross. I never said that I didn't want to hear it. I know that screameleons breeds crosses I think what he ment was that from his understanding he came from their Mitsio line. Not a disigner cross line. When I picked this guy up the previous owner confirmed that he came from either Leo or Lemon from screameleons. again I can only say what I have been told. with that being said No I can not say 100% without a dout that he is not a cross but I appreate you expaining what you see and how you came to this conclusion. Yes I am bummed that he could be a cross. no breeder wants to hear that their "thought to be" pure mitsio could be a cross. I am just happy that I am aware of this before he mated with my female. Guess I will be looking for a new male for my female :( But Sonny is still my beautiful boy and it doesn't change that I love him and He is still my boy. But I will be looking for new mate for my female :( Again thanks for your opinion. :D

i have had a feeling from the beginning he was nosy be but when we asked the previous owner of him (he has had three i believe) he said"thats tomis forsure he was from screameleons leo or lemon lines cant remember which. he is mitsio" but lindsay and i have had the thought of him being cross in the back of our heads since day one there is acctually a thread i started about him before i brough him home about whether he was nosy be or nosy mitsio. lol . that was a nother reason i was thinking about keeping their offspring for 5-6 months or so to see what they look like colouring up. hmmm....

The second pic's do reveal alot. This is what happens when you cross breed. The stripes or star on the eye is throwing me off not to mention the red dots. Im sticking with montane species from here out.

here is a question. if i bread him and her and just sell the offspring as cross and buy another pure male and breed it to female offspring and so on and so on how many generations would i have to breed pure mitsio to sonny's blood line to bring the line back to pure or is it possible?

It's not the males you have to worry about it's the females. You cant tell by looking at them what they are. You have to trust where you get them from.
