new chameleon!!!

So i finally got my first chameleon and I could not be more excited. I ordered him from FLChams and everything went very well. He is already eating and drinking too which I am presuming is good. The one thing, however, is that he has not gone to his basking spot at all. He stays in the cool side. The cool side does have a lot more coverage (an incredibly foliated ficus) it's only about 78. Is this too cold? The basking spot is a constant 86, but its only a vine above a smaller pothos. Is that too hot for a 3.5" veiled? I am probably just being paranoid but any insight would be much appreciated. I'll put up pictures soon.

You got to get pictures up!

Is that 3.5" snout to vent or the length from the snout to the end of the tail?
The basking spot is seems to high for a cham that young. How are you measuring the temperatures in the basking spot?

You should try switching to a lower wattage bulb for now and see what happens.

To be honest I haven't measured him. I purchased the baby male from FLChams and it says about 3.5" total length. I will lower it to a 60 watt?

ok here are some pictures taken off of my cell. Ill take more later when I get my camera...

ok so here are the pictures as promised. I changed the bulb to a 75 watt normal light bulb so now the temps are 80 at the basking spot and about 75 everywhere else. The humidity is 70% all the time which spikes to 90 when I mist. He still has not used his basking spot. O, and sorry about the pictures, I wont be winning any contests anytime soon.

I have a feeding cup. He doesnt really get it tho. HE keeps trying to get the crickets and hitting the side of the cup. I lowered it so hopefully hell figure it out.

So today is day two of my owning of a chameleon. He is shedding which i think is a good thing. But he still hasn't gone on to his basking spot. He just chills on the cool side. Should I be worried he's not going to bask?

Congrats
