my female veiled of 9 month is super orange and blue and being very aggressive. Is she wanting to mate ? or is this a sign that she's soon to
be egg bound? she has her dirt all ready and waiting but, has shown no
interest . She look beautiful but, her attitude is quite the opposite ,LOL.
She is still eating well but, seems more irritated by her warm mistings.
I've cut her meals back to two large bugs and one hibiscus flower.Any
suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks ,Ryan

Does she look anything like this?
http://adcham.com/images/images-species/Ch.calyptratus/CCalyptratusGravidF1.jpg

Color doesn't play a part in indicating that a chameleon is eggbound exactly.
Signs of eggbinding include but are not limited to the following..
lethargy, may not eat, sits on the floor of the cage, dug a hole/s and filled it in but never laid eggs, dug a hole but didn't lay eggs and then quit digging, etc.

If the husbandry has been right and you have provided a suitable place for her to lay them and she has no physical reason (such as deformed or fused eggs, reproductive deformities, etc.) for not laying the eggs and she doesn't see you watching her while she is digging and abandons her hole repeatedly because of it, she should lay them without any problem. She may dig more than one hole or dig in the same hole more than once...but she should turn around in the hole eventually and stay that way while she lays the eggs. I always let mine finish burying the eggs and return to the branches before I dig up the eggs whether they are fertile or not.

Signs that she is getting close to laying (but not limited to these)...
wanders around looking for a place to lay them, may eat less, will drink more, will likely look fatter than normal, etc.

no , she is green with light blue and bright orange markings .She is really active and her new thing is trying to get out of her cage.It seems if I have
the windows open or plants hanging in the room ,she wants to get to it.Her
husbandry should be next to perfect .She's a growing girl and her new colors
look awesome. I was just wondering if this means that she's receptive or
anything else. She's not looking egg bound and surely anything but, lethargic.
Again ,thanks for your help:)

Sounds like she is receptive to me......she sounds healthy too. Being active like that is not a problem. Females can be pissy just like males can be. My female hates the misting too. She hides and then later comes out to drink. Do you have any males? She sounds beautiful. Can you share a picture with us?

^^^ gladly ,here is the Lovely Chamille,Again.:)

my female veild has the exact same markings as yours does when shes gravid , remember all chams are different so not all are gona have gravid colours , she'll be that way for a good 2 or 3 weeks and then she will stop eating for a few days and then lay her batch of eggs so make sure you have a lay box in there for her big enough to hold her and pile dirt up , make sure its a good 10 inches deep to so she feeels safe when shes laying them and dont spook her cuase then she'll think your out to get her and will hold her eggs and result in being egg bound , i usually take a towel an old one and cut an lil peep hole so you can keep an eye on her with out disturbing her but be prepared shes gona lay eggs soon and those are gravid colours coming in, remember robbins blue on a female veild means eggs , but dont worry if she stops eating for 3 or 4 days thats normal but if she doesnt on the 5 day then a vet will be needed , but she will know wat to do when the time comes just make sure you have that lay box and good luck with her she looks healthy

thanks Boothy, yeah she's been this way for almost 10 days so maybe soon
she'll lay.I'll be given her more privacy for the next week or soo.
Again ,thanks, and if there's any good lover's out there for my lady ,I'd like
to see her have a clutch of fertile eggs next time. She's from a SunBurst line
and Her brother is super bright colors so, I imagine she'll make an amazing
looking clutch.:)
