Male-female proportion of trioceros hoehnelli

I was wondering if anyone could provide me with an explanation for why, out of over 20 von Hohnel's chameleons I've seen during the last month, only one has been female?
I've heard of the sex of crocodile eggs being affected by the temperature, but I don't know if that occurs with chameleons (especially considering the trioceros hoehnelli is oviviporous). Or perhaps the females prefer bushes and scrub (the ones I've seen have been mostly along a fence in the open sunshine)?
These observations have been noted in south-west Nairobi.
