Is this a good camera for making cham pics ?

I've just seen this camera....

Could I make good pics with it or do I also a good objectiv ?

Hi Benny,
there are just different names for a big part of the canon-dlsr-cameras in the usa. In the usa it shoult be the canon EOS Rebel T1i, but the usa-set has an lens with image stabilizer.

I think it is a good dlsr for beginners. I use the same lens (without IS) on the canon EOS 400 - it works good.

I just LOVE this little chameleon. ;)

To stay on topic, I own a Rebel and love it. I'm a beginner so there's a lot of room for improvement for me. In other words, I doubt I will outgrow this camera any time soon. I bought a 100mm macro lens and light ring so I can take more detailed photos of my spinosus. :)

Benny,

This is a fine camera for chameleon photography. As Jay said, it is also known as the EOS Digital Rebel XS. My photos that I've been posting are with the original EOS Digital Rebel (300D). Mine is 6.4 megapixels as compared to your 10.1. The one you are looking at is quite a bit more advanced then the one I use. Of course, a lot of it has to do with the lenses and the photographer but you should be very happy with the XS (1000D).

Ive been a photojournalist for 8 years.

The camera you are looking at will be fine for taking pictures of chameleons. You might want to invest in macro lense and possibly a small light kit if you are going to shoot indoors.

I currently own a Nikon d200, d100, d80

At work i use Nikon d300, d2hs, d80..

I have all nikons. But thats because i own expensive lenses and its not feasible to make the switch to cannon

But i have used a cannon rebel in Afghanistan for 15 months and it held up just fine in those conditions.

ps- most of the photos ive posted on chameleon forums were taken with my wifes cheap point and shoot cannon camera.
The last year ive been slacking when im off work. lol
