Is my female veiled gravid?

Hi! I'm new to this website, but have visited it often and recently made my account. I have a 7 month old female chameleon, and was wondering if she had eggs (and if so, do they need incubating if I know they are not fertile?). She has been eating less and less throughout the past 2-3 weeks, and now she only eats roughly 2 a day (if any). Her humidity is at 40% most of the time. She often wonders around the tank and LOVES to come out and sit on my shoulder or on some branches in the window when the sun is out. I also have a male (yoshi, 4 months) who will mate with her when he is a bit older. Anyway, help is appreciated since she is my first chameleon and I have only had her 4 months. Thanks!:p:D:)
P.S. sorry, attached picture is sideways ;)

Hello and welcome :)

She does look gravid but if she hasn't mated the eggs will be infertile. Females can produce eggs by themselves and its usually related to food and temperature. Ie. if they are fed a lot and have a high basking temp the nits much more likely they will produce large infertile clutches. Most of us try to combat this by feeding just 2 bugs a day (or 4-6 every few days) and keeping a basking spot if 80f.

It is also recommended to have a laying bin available at all times in case the signs are too subtle.

Here are some great links for you

And my egg laying story is the link at the bottom of my comments :)

Thanks. So does that mean I just bin the eggs? I know they are infertile, and the male is too young to meet her at the moment...

Hello, I received your PM and thought I'd just answer here. I would not breed your female until she is over one year in age and of good size. If the eggs are infertile just dig them up and count them to see if it was a large clutch. If there's more than 30 eggs I would adjust the temps and amount of food you are giving her. For fertile eggs I have a section in my blog linked below, near the bottom on how to incubate them. You might fine both of my blogs helpful.

since they are infertile, do I just dispose of them? she will probably be fertile by the time she lays her next clutch, so do I have to make any changes to her diet? thanks x

After you count them, you can dispose of the infertile eggs. Females should be kept cooler and given less feeders. My blog will give you all the details and the Raising Kitty the female veiled link will tell you exactly how to keep a female.
