There are a couple of ways to go about this.
One would be to hold one of the animals outside the enclosure of the other and observe how they react to each other.
Another way would be to position the enclosures next to each other with no visual barrier.
Obviously you want to wait until the female is displaying receptive coloration before putting them together and even then stay close and observe them.
If the female gapes and hisses at the male, she is not ready and should be removed.
It may be possible to bring her into a receptive situation by placing the cages side by side.
Common sense and a lot of observation should guide you as far as when the right time to put them together would be.
