Housing species

Hi all, hey I was wondering if you can keep 2 different species of chameleons together temporarily if they are babies and the same age? I'm mean they are in the 3.5 month age. Just wondering because at that age they are usually kept together until sold by the breeders, but I do realize those are always the same species. so basically I'm wondering if it is ok to keep a 3.5 month old veiled and a 3.5 old jacksons together in a 18/18/30 cage for about 2 weeks and just keep a close eye out for stress? Or is this a terrible idea? It would only be temp.

I've seen a panther eat a jackon. I sold a panther to a guy, who had 4, scratch that, 3 jackson babies. He had the jackson babies out on a ficus tree sunning, and was holding the panther in his hand when the panther got the urge to grab a quick meal. It happen so fast, I was a little stunned by the whole incident. Left not so sure the panther would be in the best of care, but at lease fed well.

Yeah probably not a good idea, too many things "might" happen. If you want to get away with a cheap cage for two weeks your cheapest bet would be to buy a large plastic container($8-15) and set it up as a normal enclosure. I've done this before.

and they were both babies at the same age and one ate the other?

Panther was about 4 months old and I believe the jackson babies were in the 2 month range. The panther saw movement in the bush, and I'm sure saw the jackson as a natural feeding opportunity.

I sure your going to do what to want to do with these two chameleons. I'm just saying this is a bad idea.
