We had a pep assembly a couple of days ago and there was a group called poms, it's basically a group of girls dancing, but not like cheerleading, and there was a guy on the team. I don't know for sure if he is, but everyone said he's a homosexual, i don't have a problem with it, but most people do. So he's dancing "femininly", he's doing splits and kicking his leg really super high., and people are laughing at him, people around were I sat. I felt so sad at that moment, one of my riends said he's a disgrace to men, then I said leave him alone, if he wants to do that then let him. Then they continue to laugh. There is also this transexual who people call "it", rather than calling her she. I met her once and she was so nice, she was energetic and seemed so carefree. It just pisses me off how ignorant and how hurtful high schoolers.

That's the high school mentality for you. Some areas are more lucky to not receive so much "hatred" than others. It's somewhat the same way around here but more and more people are being accepted.
It's just a matter of time.. and most behavior is learned. I am lucky to have a mom who doesn't judge a book by it's cover!

Ahfjsj! That behavior is lame but fortunately tolerance is starting to settle in the minds of The youth. Unfortunately some areas have a farther journey to make.

Hey I'm gay. Do peoeple care were I live? I dono. But im number one Drawing / painting artist at the highschool Winning the gold key at scholastics art competition.( peice is going to newyork I'm sooo excited!) I guess it helps people have respect for me I dono. My talent is what I focus on....not peoeples comments about me....it helps that I'm not flambioant....meaning you can't tell I am...I don't get picked on very often....and if it is.... its nothing big.......I don't fall under the rediculas steryotypes....those people laughing will hopefully learn different as the age/ mature.....basicly what I'm saying your sexulaity doesent determine your life.....you can be amazing even though your gay, or " diffrent"

I believe thats the point, the more flamboyant/camp you are the more you are going to catch the attention of the small minded people and stir up their ridicule.

If that your true nature then so be it, I think people shouldnt have to change or tone themselves down but expect a bit of attention if you are a more 'colourful' person.

Im not a huge fan of the whole 'different' lable, to me i'm not different and that caused me a lot of head ache and depression while growing up... i consider myself a different but normal person, hehe. Luckily i've never been on the receiving end of any really bad taunts (which amazes me to this day because i went to an all boys school!!).
