I was just cleaning my chams enclosure, and clumsy me, I knocked the heat lamp off! The bulb is smashed, but more importantly, the fixture doesn't work anymore.
I'll be buying him another ASAP but until I can get one, what kind of fixture would be safe to use from around the house? I have a small lamp with a shade and a 50 w bulb, could this be used for the time being? So long as I monitor the temp, or are regular incandescent bulbs a no-no (it's not a compact)

Howdy,

A simple 50w-100w incandescent bulb will work ok. Just keep track of the temp. As a sanity check, stick your hand at the basking spot to make sure it isn't too hot. Use whatever fixture will work for now.

Thank You!
What a relief, I was so worried but it's been pretty hot here lately so I've been taking him out at noon for a natural bask (supervised, of coarse)
