Heating of mistking water reservoir...does anyone do it?

Sounds like a good idea to me, as a warm mist would probably be enjoyed more than a cold shower.

I have extra submersible heaters from my cichlid addiction(which is waning now that I have two pairs of panthers) and would like to keep my reservoir heated above room temp.

Pros/Cons???

Anyone else do it?

Thanks.

People do do it, but a normal aquarium heater isn't the best. They have to be completely submerged (otherwise they go bang) and they can't get it 'that' warm. Use the search and you'll see what some people have done!

I have an in-line 300 watt Hydor heater that warms the water only as the water is misting. I did this to avoid having to heat lots of water, and creating a possible bacteria pool. IMHO, the little you can heat the water is not worth the price. I would not heat the water continuously with a underwater heater, for bacteria issue, and exploding melting-the container situations that happen when you run out of water in your reservoir!!:D
