Grow/hatch your own food

Hi could anyone explain/recommend how to get eggs or w.e it is to grow your own crickets worms ect as the reptile shop charges 3 pound or around 5 dollars for 10 cricks or 10 works which don't last 2 seconds. thanks in advance, im from england.

I have only bred crickets and superworms. I did try waxworms but I didn't like the process. I haven't tried breeding the insects as instructed in the sites below...but they look okay.
