Great article about chameleon harvesting in africa

This article has some great info and images and charts. No sure how impartial it is though:

What do you think about harvesting for the pet trade?

.

.

I have got to free up sometime to read the entire article.

However initial I'm for some collecting for the pet trade if it is done in non excessive/conservative amounts. If a species is localized I probably am only for collecting for Reptile Farm brood stock and exports being farm raised animals from these initial brood stock.

Ya, less than 200 animals. I can't say if it is large enough to conclude anything. The scarcity of K. matschiei is interesting.

They had a couple hypothesis why the numbers were low for K. matschiei. I think this is probably going to be the beginning of more studies from this region and hopefully Tanzania (with more effective conservation as a result) in general.
