Giant orange poop

chameleongal

We got our panther chameleons last Wednesday and the male pooped for the first time today. He is about 6 months old. It is about an inch and a half long with orange at the end of the brown and then a little bit of white at the very end. They each have an automatic mister and we mist them by hand 3 or 4 times a day. He's been eating great and we've seen him drink several times.

Is it normal for him to go that long in between poops? What about the size? Thanks for any help you might have!

Sometimes they're good at hiding their little poops, like perhaps in the pot of the plant or among the leaves. So you might have missed little ones. Don't be too worried. You've seen some poop and if he is eating well, he'll probably poop more regularly as he gets comfortable.

At this point I would not be concerned too much. He was probably a tad bit dehydrated during the shipping process. Just make sure his urates are white going forwards, if not you need to assess your watering.
