Free range hunger strike / wtf?

My meller markus lives in a 6ft relexa plant and free ranges for life / no cage.

I have noticed he hasn't been eating barely anything fr his cup in a while, yet I've seen I'm eat from it before and he hand feeds,

He's gettin a bit skinnier and I am worried, I want to keep him good n healthy? What gives, what can I do to try n get him eating more, I swear I have 2 separate food cups, and I've even let Dubais Rome free on the plant in hopes hell get them and they won't go run aroun my house?

Running out of things to try?

Has his weight dropped? When was the last time he ate? a healthy adult can go a month or more without eating.

I probly should buy a baby scale, good idea there I've been so focused on improving / expanding the freerange across my house

He ate about 2 days ago, but just one Dubai, he'll eat like two or 3 crickets every 3 days from my hand n worn touch his cup, this had been like this for comin on 3 weeks, dono what to do.... Doesn't seem like enuff does it, he's a big adult

Unless he isn't looking well or is acting strange, I wouldn't worry too much. It sounds like he just isn't that hungry. They eat less as they get older.

He's fine, just seems like a very small amount for such a big creature

He recently got some burns from gettin too close to his light but that's about it.

I'm Gunna take him in a for a vet check soon for everything... Just wanted him to destress after getting him for a whole and from his burns

I started free ranging my panther at 4 1/2 months. Since that time he has refused to cup feed. Even out of the same cups that were in his cage. He is 10 1/2 months now. He will hand and free range feed. And will sometimes cup feed if I hold the cup! I don't get it either. ?!

They want to make sure you know your their slave;)

if hes colder than normal he wont eat as much, his metabolism may just be slowing down.

Here's an interesting theory. Have you moved the light since the burn? This could slow down his metabolism.

Could he potentially be not going as close to the light because of the burn?

Interesting Idea, I moved the light up, but he still shows no fear of it and basks as close as he can, and i live in nyc....

so there is no control of the room temperature, aka it is always above 80, but I have the cham by a window to get the cold draft at night... so his temperature range is there with highs and lows, and lows at night

How so? Never heard window can cause problems, I mean the window is completely closed and never come open bu some cold does come off the glass n a lil n the cracks but nothing close to recognizable or substantial.

So after a few days of scarce to none eating, last night I offered a dubia on my hand, and he wasn't feelin it, so i put it on the beam on his highway and he gobbled it down.

I also moved his feeder bucket to make it blend in with the trees and put it higher up, so it looks like the insects are on the leaves cuz it's a clear cup....

$$$$$ hopefully that will do it

you live in nyc? then just free range your roaches too! its normal isnt it? he may be bored too. maybe just wants to play with his food. ive never had much success with a feeder cup.

ive still got my money on slowed metabolism.

When my chams have had all they will eat from my hand, I can usually set one on a branch, and they will go for it. I think the wild in them just kicks in:p
