flapneck husbandry?

Odelay!!

My aquarium shop dabbles in reptiles, mostly chams and beardies. They don't do a good job. I almost saved a mellers from them but I just don't have the space. I went in today and they have a little flapneck that of course is on some store bought plants and no UVB.

I have a juvenile veiled, how much harder are flapnecks to raise in comparison? I know the the feelings about buying poorly cared for chameleons from pet shops but little bugger tugged at my heart strings.

The flapneck was about 3-4 inches in length (not including tail). I will be moving my veiled from his 16x12x20 to a larger enclosure soon and was wondering if the 16x12x20 would work for a while for a flapneck?

it should work for a little dilepis, their care is pretty similar to calyptratus they just drink a bit more water than them and need a higher humidity.

I went back in today and the poor little guy is still there. It doesn't look like his external conditions are getting any worse. His enc is filthy pretty much all the basking leaves were covered in poop.

I want to rescue him very bad,, I know I shouldn't. I would have to get the other setup ready in record time and that wouldn't necessarily be fair to the little guy.

I'm in the same situation. There's a flapneck in a reptile shop here. He was in with a female, but she died. The owner of the shop said she never drank, but I suspect she was stressed by being with the male in such a small enclosure. I so want to get him, but I really don't have anymore space for another enclosure. I don't know if anyone keeps them in Canada. As with you, I know taking him wouldn't be fair to him. What to do?

There are a few of us with the flaps in Canada (I'm pretty certain that most if not all were WC imports). To my knowledge, I'm unaware of current breeders with years of breeding flaps......yet.

I'm hoping to attempt breeding in the future :) My WC female laid 23 pearly whites a little while ago (all are doing fantastic still). I do know these guys took tons of work & constant watching/TLC to acclimatize them, but now are doing fantastic! They are super cool in my opinion and such personalities. Mine drink all the time when misted but are kept similiar to Veiled Chams.
